TikTok rolls out 'one-stop-Shop' in the US

TikTok has rolled out a revamped version of Shops in the United States after months of testing in the US and other markets.

TikTok creators can connect to brands through a new affiliate programme and tag videos and live streams with shoppable links to their favourite products. Brands can curate products on their profile pages to create compelling shops. Users can use links or shops to add products to a universal TikTok basket and checkout without leaving the platform.

Despite recent setbacks, TikTok is persevering with the idea of turning the platform into a one-stop-shop by providing shoppable surfaces throughout the app, a universal shopping basket, logistics solutions under the “Fulfilled by TikTok” banner, and a simple, secure checkout procedure.

TikTok says it has signed up more than 200,000 sellers for the Shop product and more than 100,000 creators to the associated Affiliate programme.

Shoppable links appear on videos and live streams. Brands can curate portfolios.

What TikTok Shop has to offer

  • In-Feed Video and LIVE Shopping: Users can shop tagged products directly from videos and LIVEs in the For You feed.
  • Product Showcase: Businesses can curate custom product collections directly on their profile page. Browse can purchase directly from their favourite brand's profile pages.
  • Shop Tab: Businesses display their products on a new product marketplace. Users can search and discover promotions.
  • Shoppable videos: Product recommendations are showcased via product listings and shoppable links on video content. Customers can manage orders from multiple brands within a single tab.
  • Affiliate Program: Creators can choose to promote their favourite sellers through Affiliate plans. Creators sharing sellers’ products in videos and live streams can earn commission based on sales.
  • Shop Ads: TikTok Shop Ads help sellers to promote their TikTok Shops. Customers can complete purchases within TikTok.
  • Fulfilled by TikTok: A logistics solution that lets merchants focus on their products while TikTok Shop stores, picks, packs, and then ships sellers' products to customers.
  • Secure Checkout: TikTok works with third-party payment platforms to facilitate transactions on TikTok Shop.
