The internet has facilitated more rapid international expansion for many. However, as retailers break into new markets it is important that they fully localise their product data to set themselves up for success.
Fundamentally, the language of the product data must be accurately and comprehensively translated. Product listings with foreign / mixed languages, will fail to appear in many searches as they do not possess the (local language) keywords.
Even if such advertisements manage to appear, the consumer is unlikely to trust the retailer due to an inability to fully understand the listing. Further to language, clearly displaying local shipping information provides the consumer with additional information as well as managing their expectations – increasing the likelihood of conversion.
